I've decided to start our blog off with telling you all a little bit about why and how Something New Bridal Boutique began.
Lets go back to the beginning so I absolutely love everything to do with weddings from the dresses to the very fine detail of the décor so you can imagine how excited I was back in early 2016 when my partner had asked me to marry him. That was where it all sort of began I decided to start buying all my own décor as I wanted to do it myself and also thought it might save us money but as a matter of fact it didn't it ended up being very expensive as we were buying stuff and then there was the realisation of what will I do with all the décor after our wedding so with that Something Borrowed began in September 2017.
Once we got up and running and started getting wedding bookings a lot of brides and grooms started asking could they come and see some of the décor but we didn't have a showroom so the décor was between our shed and our house so I had thought about maybe one day in the future opening a shop or a showroom that couples could come in and have a look at what décor we had to offer and my dream was to maybe even have a wedding dress boutique.
Then early this year we talked more about a shop should we or shouldn't we but eventually decided to take the leap and started looking for our perfect shop premises. I came across the premises we are currently in online and although I kept looking I always came back to this building so we decided to go and view it and with that once I stepped inside I KNEW this was the perfect premises (once it would have our personal touch of course).
As we started all the paperwork we started looking for dress designers and choosing dresses there was SO many to choose from but we knew we needed to get them ordered as they can take some time to arrive.
As some of you that know us probably know we don't do things by halves as we started all this in the middle of planning the final details for our own wedding which was in July this year so as soon as we got the paperwork sorted and the keys at the end of June everything was put on hold until after our big day.
A week after our wedding it was full steam ahead to get the place renovated (when I say we I mean mostly my husband) he spent mostly everyday there for six weeks. I was doing all the shopping and buying although I will take credit for some of the painting. We eventually decided to try our best and get the doors open for September 1st and low and behold we managed it.
Since then we are enjoying meeting all the lovely brides and bridesmaids that come in to us in our boutique and we cannot wait to meet more of you lovely ladies.
I hope you enjoyed this post getting to learn more about our lovely little bridal boutique. We hope to do a blog post every so often so keep an eye out on our social media pages for more.
